Conclusions from the Life of Patsy Cline

So what conclusions, both positive and negative, can we learn from the short life of Patsy Cline?

- Let us resolve to be responsible for our own lives! Don't blindly trust others to look out for us, or manage our affairs, or be responsible for our safety! Let us realize and own the individual responsibility for our own lives as God intends! If Patsy had followed this simple guideline she would have benefited from more of her own revenue from singing (would not have been taken advantage of financially), Also, Patsy might still be alive and with us today if she had trusted her own instincts and ridden with the safe alternative to a flight in a storm! She should have taken advantage of the offer of the car ride with friend, Dottie West.

- Let us resolve to get all the education we need for life so that opportunities do not pass us by and so that we have the tools necessary for addressing the situations of life. We should continue to learn throughout life to have the greatest opportunities in life! Patsy never went back to school after leaving high school at 16 years of age. Surely this was a detriment to her managing her own life and affairs. Her lack of education resulted in a lack of self confidence and left her few tools to deal with family and work related problems.

- Let us learn the benefits of focus and hard work! Patsy Cline was a success in her career because she focused on her goal of success and she worked hard to be a success. She realized that she had one gift that she could use for success- her singing voice! There was no easy path to success, there was only the dedicating to work consistently for success! Patsy Cline lived the American Dream of job success because she was focused on the goal and worked hard to achieve  the success. George Washington Carver found that there was only one seed that prospered in the soil of his area- peanuts. George Washington Carver then developed 300 products that could be made from peanuts to exploit that gift.

- Lastly, let us follow Patsy Cline's faith, let us also trust Jesus Christ as our Savior, so that when our time of death arrives- early or late in life- we also will be ready to go and be with Him in heaven. This was the best and most important decision Patsy ever made!

  The Roman Road to Salvation

God’s plan of salvation set forth in Paul’s letter to the Romans...

These few simple steps show the way to accept Jesus Christ and to receive salvation.

  • For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.  Romans 3:23
We have all sinned and do not deserve the glory of God. We are all sinners and need to have our sins blotted out and until this is done, we fall short of the glory of God.
  • For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Romans 6:23
Death is what one receives if they don't turn away from sin. The gift of God is eternal life--His gift to us--from refusing to be a slave to sin any longer.
  • But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  Romans 5:8
God sent Jesus to die in our place because of the great love He has for us. While we were still sinners, He died for us.
  • For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.   Romans 10:13
Admit your sins - You must admit to God that you are a sinner and confess your sins to Him. Not only do we need to confess our sins, we need to repent - meaning to turn away from them.
  • That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.   Romans 10:9
Receive Jesus as Lord and surrender your life to Him.

Are you ready to take the most important step of your life?
If you are and you understand what you have read, then all you have to do is ask Him to save you. Pray the prayer that follows or use your own words from your heart.

"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and that I am separated from you. I believe that you died for me on the cross and rose again to give eternal life. I ask you to forgive me of my sins and take total control of my life. I invite you Jesus to live in my heart. Thank You for saving me and making me your child. In Jesus' Name, Amen."

Now that you have prayed the prayer, what's next?

Welcome to God's family!

The next step is to tell someone about your new faith in Christ. Find a local church to help you grow in your faith, to worship, and for fellowship with other believers. Spend time with God every day by reading and studying the Bible, praying to God to help you grow in your faith and trust in Him.
Remember that salvation is a gift and a way of life. God has given us this plan because He loves us so much and does not wish that we should perish-but live forever......
